Anti-authoritarian kids / parents group

Anti-authoritarian kids / parents group

Each Sunday, 3 to 5 pm
Seomra Spraoi
(4 Mary's Abbey, on the Luas tracks, just off Capel St., grey door on
the right, just opposite Gary Rhodes restaurant.)

Whether you are a parent or parent-to-be, work with kids or just take an interest, come along to a friendly space where we share looking after the children and can talk about kids, alternative ways to practice parenting, organise childcare, and relate to education.

We've been meeting weekly over the summer (8 Sundays so far, with just one skipped!). We're hoping to have more regular discussions in one room, with some of us looking after the kids in the next room, starting next Sunday (29th). Beyond that, we've been talking about the possibility of even longer-term projects around childcare / education.

Bring the kids (any age!) if you have them, and non-sugary snacks to share. You can also join the email discussion group at http://groups. yahoo.com/ group/AAkids/

Seomra Spraoi is an autonomous social centre. We are a collective of different people with different backgrounds and interests working together in co-operation with a common purpose, to create a non-comercial space with an atmosphere of tolerence and respect, and a sense of community.

The centre is run on libertarian principles and participatory democracy, it is independant of any political party, business etc. and everyone involved has an equal voice in deciding how it is run.

We've been at 4 Mary's Abbey, just off Capel St (on the luas line) for 2 months now and although we've had lots going on, we haven't really taken the time to stop and celebrate and show it off!
